the HOT engine stands for high output turbo. The 9-3 SE has the HOT engine, and it produces 205hp instead of the 185 produced by the base 9-3. If you have an SE,(or Viggen, but I think you'd definitely know if you had a Viggen) you have the HOT engine. 20k in canadian money is, uhhh 13 grand, US. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me, considering it only has about.....let me think in Kilometers here...50 thousand miles. If it has leather, sunroof, CD, and the HOT engine, it sounds like a damn good deal. If it's base, with cloth, tape, and no roof then it's still a pretty decent deal. About servicing, you should've taken it in BEFORE you bought it for a thorough checking over, so perhaps you should ask them to do that now, better to know late than never. Of course, good points to start on are transmission and brakes, as well as things that are expensive to fix, like the turbocharger. Extended warranties are up to you...if you drive the car hard, you may want one. If you feel that you won't use it, then don't get it. The warranty decision may hinge upon what the mechanic tells you about the general health of the car. If he has doubts about expensive stuff, go for the warranty. Just think before you act, and weigh all of your options (and their prices) before you sign anything.
