Yep, I think I took care of the smell. Sprayed Chrolox anti-bacteria spray (free sample from new born class, how handy) down the running fan under the cowl several times w/ AC on. Now I'll see how long it lasts. Amazed how dirty the cabin air filter was w/ 12000 miles, but for now just cleaned, sprayed and put back on.
The flat-end drain hose was located below the steering rack. It was about 75F in Chicago when I was doing the work outside and even not so hot or humid, I saw water dripping fast out the drain. Seems like the evaporator produces relatively more water (from my experience w/ other cars, better efficiency?) Together with the way it is consealed (C900 is almost open to the air when recircuration flap down), I could see it may be prone to easily trap moisture and get smelly. Hope I do not have corrosion on evap. and leakage anytime soon.
