This depends on whether you use a standard bleeder valve or a ball and spring type, shall we call these advanced?
There is very little that you can do in this fashion, as the BCP is on on-off, but is contolled via the ECU by pulse width modulation and actually not a fixed frequency either.
The long and short of it is, that it is a closed loop control system with an target boost set by the ECU, and it monitors the achieved pressure with an absolute pressure transducer which is connected to the intake manifold.
It is a great system. With some other mods, you can get some nice pressure overshoots with the stock BCP as you can imrove the turbo spool up and even the all mighty T5 cannot keep the boost completely under control. That is why the ECU over pressure is quite high compared to boost targets. This is why you can override the boost control system so nicely on many makes and models of turbo charged systems.
If a device is added in line with the BCP, you can probably achieve higher pressures in the first two gears, but getting more in the taller gears is probably impossible. To do this, you need to getr the ECU and BPC out of the picture completely.
But, for $35, you can have a great improvement in performance on a beer budget, so why struggle with anything else. If you want to spend the bucks, get an Abbott or other ECU at 1.3 bar.
And as aways, at elevated pressures you should get a low restriction exhaust and clean up a few intake restrictions, which vary by model year. This goes for the ECU modes as well as the external boost controllers. But, these things are vital for external boost conrollers, as the ECU cannot trim boost pressure something goes wrong that is conducive to knocking. You get knock avoidance and more power by doing these other things. For any folks after lower cost performance improvement, the Saab sports exhaust at $300 delivered will be the biggest expense. There is great satisfaction in doing the other mods your self.
