....I don't think you can hide the small gouges. You're not alone with this week-old cosmetic damage faux pas. I did the same thing myself. I used TremClad rust paint as it has zero gloss.
There ought to be a way this plastic-y material can be "melted to recover", if you catch my drift, but I'll be damned if I know about it.
