Viggen transmission being replaced.

Driving home from work last Wednesday I pulled away from a stop light and I had to double/triple clutch to go from 1st to 2nd gear. The upshift to 3rd was a little better, but not much. I pulled into the driveway at home and couldn't get into reverse without turning off the engine first. Either the clutch was not fully disengaging or the synchros in the trans are shot. I dropped it off at the dealer that night.
On Monday I picked-up the car and was told that the synchro for reverse had been replaced, some new springs were added to help the damping, and the linkage had been thoroughly adjusted. All was well...
Until my drive home yesterday when I tried to take the car out of fifth gear but I couldn't--it was really stuck. I had to pull over to the side of the road, turn off the car, turn the car back on, play with the clutch and yank on the gearshift to get out of fifth. The other gears functioned properly, although they were a bit more notchy than usual. So, back to the dealer I go.
I talk with the service rep for a few minutes when he calls over the technician that worked on the trans earlier. The tech jumps in the car and has the exact same experience as me. He thinks about it for a while--contemplating whether another adjustment of the linkage would help. Finally he decides to order me a new transmission. There's one at the warehouse in Allentown, PA which should arrive here in Michigan today.
I'm pretty disappointed to have a transmission problem like this with only 16,000 miles on the car.
