I am not going to beat you up for buying an S60. I have been test driving many cars recently and have come to the conclusion that everyone has different priorities and tastes.
I found the S60 to be very solid. The seats were really comfortable and even the base model here in the states seemed to have enough power. What I wasn't comfortable with were the very touchy brakes, lack of road feel and limited agility. I really felt as if I were driving a tank. As for the stereo system, I believe Consumer Reports has already blasted Volvo for screwing that up. There are no preset buttons. Instead there is one knob you turn for up to 20 presets. This means you have to be looking at the display to find the station. Frankly, even here in LA there are not 20 radio stations that I would want to listen to. I usually switch between about four. Volvo is not offering 3 years of free maintenance. Their reliability has come into question with the advent of new models. The S80's had a real problem with their transmissions. You may want to look into purchasing an extended warrenty through "warrentydirect.com". You can actually contact them after three and half years of ownership and with their diamond plan add seven years.
