Dear Ben;
Thanks for the decent review. Although the word "quirky" is overworked by autowriters, the quirks are what they are for some very good reasons.
Take the key in the tranny bit; one that everyone writes about. Check out the actuarial stats on stolen Saabs (and for that matter deaths on the road through accidents) and figure in comparatively low insurance premiums and you begin to get the picture.
Never mind the crash tests; they're for dummies. We're talking real accidents and real injuries here.
And if you want to direct your readers to a deep well of information about Saabs, send them over to Saabnet.com for inquiries.
According to recent data, Saabers are, among car owners, the highest internet-connnected group of them all (as well as the highest % of dog ownership) and have, according to the Natioal Post in Canada, one of the vey best auto sites online in Saabnet.com.
BTW; Wasn't it Saab "Ecopower" that broke the Pike's Peak Open record last summer?
And another thing: Saabs at high altitude are demonstrably better breathers than comparably-equipped turbos and fuel-injected autos. Where you live, in Denver, this is somewhat important.
Good luck with the Avs.
Cheers; John A.
