Sorry about that, I missed the "most" at the beginning of your post. However, your last sentence of the previous post was: "The SAAB is for the modern traditionalist whereas the BMW is for the nouveau riche in desparate need of external affirmation of their place in the sun. If you drive a SAAB, you already know your place in the sun and require no one else be educated as to that fact." This, by my reading, is equivalent to saying "BMW drivers are in desperate need of external affirmation". If that's not what you meant you need to tone down the rhetoric.
Also this line from your post "the rest of the horde is either programmed by what everyone else is buying or only knows how to blindly follow tradition and the mediocrity of the mobocracy." An "is" clause followed by an "or" clause implies "all". I realize you were talking about Volvo buyers here but your general sentiments about other makes is well illustrated.
Now that said I think some people make entirely too much of an issue of poor weather driving characteristics. I would argue that the 3 series is truly a "sports sedan", whereas the 9-3 is more of a "sporty sedan". There are compromises you make when you want a sports car. I wouldn't say a Corvette owner bought his car to, in your words, "demonstrate to perfect strangers that they can afford to purchase a car that is a relatively poor performer in rain and snow", would you?
