I've had my '01 9-3SE TiD 125 for 8 months/11k miles. Overall it's very good. Masses of torque for overtaking, very easy high-speed cruiser (esp with cruise control). I get around 42mpg normally, or 45mpg+ at steady motorway speeds (according to SID). Can't really comment on
reliability as I've not had it long enough.
However the engine is not in the same league as the latest PSA diesels (can't comment wrt VW diesels): a bit noisy on startup, noticeably a diesel at very slow speeds, but once you are moving....
I was originally in the market for a used one (private buyer), but ended up buying new as 2nd-hand they seem pretty scarce and not much cheaper than new.
