I'm not sure which - I tried peeling and picking at it with my fingernails and had absolutely zero effect on it (was too nervous to try something sharper like a key).
I'd guess oil based.
and it seems very much like it has bonded well, but it is raised up off of the other paint, so hopefully that will help.
The car is due for its 20K service, so perhaps I'll ask the dealer when I take it in (if I haven't fixed it by then) - I'm just paranoid that it will have to get sanded down and repainted. If that is the case, then the only saving grace is that I got in an accident about a year ago with a college student on a bicycle (nobody was hurt, very low speed - probably 1mph) and there is a scratch on my hood from that - so if repainted is in order, then it will fix that (although I think it is just a very minor scratch and is made more visable by the wax and such over it).
