Read this link. You know what model you have and any T7 & air mass meter etc.

So you can figure out what applies to your engine management system.

In general you could use both types of valves at once, but the benefits get deminishing small as with anything else, while the costs increase substantially and the engine compartment gets conjested. The blow off valve flange will also create some flow resistance that cannot be avoided.

So while both valves could be used, the cost of adding the bypass valve could be better applied elsewhere to improve your vehicles performance.

The two valves could complement each other.

I picked up a plastic one way valve last weekend, and found a very soft spring to provide closure which would not otherwise have been assured in the orientation that is required. I will install and post later on for the folks who want noisy valves. This will be used in conjunction with the stock or an aftermarket bypass valve, and will prevent unfiltered air from going into the bypass valve which is open while there is a manifold vacuum. (This will also eliminate the ability of air to bypass the IC when getting off the line, which could cause a slight penalty.) I suspect that after I get it going that I will want to remove it as I expect that I will find the noise anoying. (- micro rant -) I will leave it in long enough to see what happens to ABS plastic under the hood. But summer temperatures will not be available. The end result should be better than either a bypass valve or a dump valve. The results may be similar or better than a bypass valve disharging to a small filter. A discharge to filter will also injest very hot air when accelerating off of idle, another minor issue.

If such a valve was good for the long haul and had a performance benefit, I would install with a Tee to allow discharge via the one way valve and the existing return tube. This would preserve the cold air flow for low throttle positions with manifold vacuum. The one way valve would then discharge only as required by the dynamic and static impedance of the return tube. The intantainious increase in pressure coupled with the long narrow discharge tube does create a impedance effect analogous the electical meaning. The one way valve would need to be colinear with the bypass disharge and the return would have to take the tee. This would rearrange the return discharge route.

A nice aluminum one way valve could be created by the valve suppliers and could be interchanged with the bypass valve discharge hose adapters. Another bolt on money maker.

Why am I thinking in this direction? Because I feel that small discharge filter arrangements are not suited for the explosive discharge rates that are the objective. Too much resistance for these discharge rates. IE the discharge rates will not be achieved.
