What will fit the stock amp location

I put a MTX RT-2120 amp in the stock location and it barely fit. That amp is 9"x6"x2" and the 2" dimension is the key one. If it is thicker than that, the kick panel in the passenger footwell will stick out and you won't be able to re-fasten the screw that holds the bottom of the kick panel. You *might* be able to get it to work with an amp 2-1/8" thick, but it was tight even with the RT-2120 (hmmm...if you could replace the screw with a longer screw...that would probably help...) You have some room to play with the 9" dimension, but not much with the 6" dimension because of the curves in the kick panel.
The trick is finding an amp that is only 2" thick. The MTX RT-2120 was one of the few I found in the 50Wx2 range. I think that model has been replaced by MTX with newer models, but you can still find it at a few stores and online web sites. (I'm not specifically advocating it, I just know that it will fit.)
If you mount an amp in the stock position, you will have to rig some kind of bracket to hold it in place. (There is a nice big A-shaped metal frame there to work with that the Saab amp attaches to. The Saab amp has a special bracket built into the Saab amp so you have to rig something for your particular amp.)
