First, take off the nut at the base of the mast with a deep socket.
Have someone turn on your radio and the nylon tail of the antenna should feed right out the base. If it doesn't, you may have to give it a tug. Pay attention to what direction the teeth are facing.
With the radio on, feed the nylon tail of the new antenna down into the base until it won't go anymore. Make sure the teeth are facing the correct direction. Slide the bottom of your new antenna down into the base. There is a sleeve at the bottom that should feed into the base.
Have someone turn your radio off, and if you've fed the tail in correctly, it should suck your new antenna right down. If it doesn't go down completely, don't panic. Just put the nut back on the base (so it doesn't spit out the top again), then turn the radio on and off a few times. If it still doesn't go all the way down, you can go ahead and push it down. If it doesn't want to go, post another message and I'll tel you how to remove the broken piece of tail that's probably in your antenna motor.
Good luck...
