a bit more on the repaired rims

(From the message thread in the link below, I had bent a couple of the Viggen wheels and am having them repaired.)
A scant 8 days after I shipped them out the wheels are back. I can't wait to get them back on the car and get off the snow tires... :^). $349, including remounting, balancing and insured return UPS. UPS did poke a hole in one of the boxes, but the tire/whhel wasn't damaged.
Of significant note: When I was last at the dealer they moved the bent rims to the back of the car as the solution to the problem of the vibration and wheel shudder when braking. I had "just" done the reverse to rotate the rubber to the tires with less wear. What didn;t happen at that visit was to make any effort to offer a solution.
When I got back the tires from The Wheel Collision Center, they had swapped the two front tires on the rims. I myself was going to have this done to even out the wear pattern on the tires as the inside of each tire was noticably worn more than the outside. The folks at WCC seemed to have noticed this and made the switch. I promptly called them to say thanks...
