Put one in my 9-3 conv about 4 months ago.
I bought a self-contained unit from Garmin. This unit is called the Street Pilot III. I installed it using the cell phone mount available from Saab. It is placed just under the emergency light button and faces the driver.
As for the antenna, it is placed in the front window next to the blinking LED security light. It is about 2"x1"x.5" so it is very descrete... I ran the wire around the molding and it cannot be seen.
I will try to take a picture of it to post.
This is the GPS Unit:

This is the Mounting Bracket I used: (Letter B)

This is a great solution for me... I can easily remove the unit if I want to use a different car, or sell the one I have. It is also nice to be able to remove it if I park my car in a questionable area.
I was thinking about connecting the voice navigation option through the cellular phone connection in the head unit. Just haven't gotten around to it.
Let me know if I can help.
Russ
