You are paying pimarily for labor costs at an independent owner operated franchise. Depending upon whether the mechanics are unionized and depending upon the adminsitrative overhead ofhte opeation, these costs may be quite reasonable as a pass through cost to you the person who purchased a high end European performance sedan.
I mean what our the choices open to you? Jiffy Lube, Sears, Firestone? some independent mechanic ? All which have the potentiality to void SAAB's warranty should negligence occure.
My freind, owning a SAAB or any other European sports sedan is like breeding show dogs or running a throroughbred stable in Ocala or Kentucky. It is never cheap to operate such but preventative maintenance by a qualified expert is always cheaper in the long run.
