9-3 is very nimble, quick, fun to drive, practical (cargo). It is less elegant and more sporty. It has a slightly harsher ride and is a bit less refined. But it IS the car most Saab enthusiasts love...there is NOTHING
quite like the fun of a 9-3. It would be a great compliment to the 9-5, and
I bet, despite the feel of the 9-5 as the more expensive car, you will feel
yourself wanting to drive the 9-3 more. (BTW--get the optional center sliding armrest, as it's not standard on the 9-3)
BTW, both are class-leading in safety and crash tests-- the 9-3 has the best
survival rating in its class size (beats A4 and 3-series) and the 9-5
is the best also (over A6 and 5-series). So the 9-3 is plenty safe for a smaller car.
