Was at Westport, C.T. dealer yesterday for winter tire changover and wanted to post some feedback that may be of interest/help to others. I asked my salesperson about lease details as I am considering some modifications and when I asked her about px. negotiations at lease's end she said Chase has stopped negotiating because they bought some type of insurance to cover the spread between residual and avg. auction px's. She said Saab leasing is still willing to negotiate. This sounded like new info to me...any opinions? I have 01 5dr Viggen and decided to get the dealer's 16" wheel/tire pkge which cost $900 + $46 for labor. Felt strange changing into winter tires while wearing a T-shirt!!! I have 7K miles of mixed road driving on the car and was surprised to see the difference in tread wear in front vs. rear. I keep 37psi/34psi Fr/Rr and from now on I will be rotating tires evry 5-6K for longer life. Have P6000's and so far like the tires. The soft 16" winter tires transform this car and will require some extra will-power not to push them on dry pavement. Also, had wind noise coming from upper rear of passenger door and thanks to saabnet I handed the service rep the bulletin describing faulty weatherstripping. They said this wasn't the problem and they ended-up adjusting both right side doors referencing another service bulletin which I have not seen. Anyway, the wind noise seems to be gone now. Lastly, my headliner is starting to come loose at left-side rear along edge of hatch (nothing like parachute sag of my old 99 turbo's) but very annoying on a $36k investment. They had to order a entire new headliner which I'll have to go back for. I am going to do Rescue Kit and Viggen sport exhaust come springtime...They wanted $475 for exhaust and $126 to install it. Seems like an easy job to save the $126??? Dealer unwrapped an brand-new 02 convertible as a loaner which was pretty cool but I was amazed w/ the amount of frame flex for a new car and the suspension was like a Caddy's compared to the Viggen...
