Good Dealers in Los Angeles for Service

Hi all,
I just took my car to Saab of Sherman Oaks(Also known as Casa de Cadillac) for the 5,000 mile oil change. What a frustrating experience. At the 30 day inspection I had asked what oil do they put in the car and what will an oil change cost me.
I was told that they use Valvoline synthetic and it would be $35-$40.
Well, this morning when I asked what oil they use I got "It's Mobil1; it's a synthetic oil; Saab repacks Mobil1 with their name on it; there is a big truck that comes in and fills our oil tank". Three different versions of what I believe to be a simple question for a service writer to answer. Then after that song and dance number, he tells me it will cost $80 because they are using a synthetic oil. I said that you have to be kidding. Mobil1 is about $4.92 a quart at Pep Boys. The Saab oil filter and gasket are around $6. He relented and said that he would give me a "discount". The oil change ended up being $31.90.
I really do not enjoy playing these kind of games at all. What will they be trying to charge should I have a real problem? Needless to say my confidence in Saab of Sherman Oaks service department has been shot. I would appreciate the name(s) of dealer(s) that have a better service department in the Los Angeles area near Hollywood. I have the 36 month, 36,000 mile "free service" and would like to be able to use it without having to worry about poor work or being overcharged should some problem outside of the warrenty appear.
Thank you.
