The tires are okay from what I've heard, but definately not great. I bought the dual three-spoke wheels for my 900 (I'm assuming that's what you're talking about), and chose the SP Sport 8000s over the 2000s because one, they were cheaper, and two, the 2000 got worse reviews than the 8000. For another $25 a tire, you can get the 9000, which is their best. For some reason, Saab only recommends Dunlop or Pirelli tires on those wheels, but that's probably more political than anything. Check out tirerack.com for some decent reviews and a lot of owner feedback. I wouldn't worry about the low profile. The ride's a little harsher compared to the old 205/50R16 tires, but not significantly so. A 50-series tire has a sidewall that's about 21.5 mm taller than a 45, so it may cause rubbing, and would definately screw up your speedometer.
