Let me add that I use 16" tires, Eagle NCTs and I have no TCS fitted.
Note that this trick will not work with TCS!!!
Also remove spare tire from the booth, and run petrol tank down to less than 1/4.
To pull off this feat, get revs up to 2000RPM and do your utmost not to let it drop! This is important.
Put car in first gear and let go of the clutch until the peedo starts moving. Don't let go of the clutch completely if the car revs tries to drop, but give it more gas to stop the revs from dropping and add more gas to build up revs. You'll start to get wheel spin as the wheel loses traction with the ground. Now let go of the clutch completely.
Keep eyes on REV counter. As soon as it hits 4500, press clutch sufficient to change to 2nd gear whilst keeping gas pedal slightly depressed( Don't floor clutch completely, since you'll loose a couple of fraction of seconds otherwise between total clutch dis-engagement and clutch biting point) REVS would have dropped to 3000RPM odd. Don't dilly dally whilst you are doing this. Every fraction of a second counts. If you get the revs to drop below 2500RPM, you'll loose it. At this point (in 2nd gear) you should still have massive wheel spin.
Let go of clutch and floor the gas pedal AT THE SAME TIME. AT this point your REV counter should be reading aboout 4500 and 4 seconds would have passed.
The remaining 2 seconds will take you to 60MPH and 6000 revs.
It's the wheel spin that allows for the revs to shoot up so quickly. If you don't get the wheel spin, the trick won't come off. That's because th eresistance between tires and asphalt will prevent a quick REVS built-up.
People who have driven my car to confirm this are: Dan at Abbott Racing, and Micky at Twostroke (http://www.twostroke.co.uk).
I must also add that I was a motorbike nutter in my younger years, where I picked up these tricks. Mind you, it's not good for your clutch...
