warped brake rotors: best (cost/performance) fix?

After only 21000 miles, my 2000 9-3 SE front brake rotors are warped. They aren't bad, but enough to be annoying. Although rotors shouldn't warp at this mileage, I can't in good conscience complain to the dealer since I think I did it at the race track. I don't think the stock pads and rotors are designed for that.
I've got plenty of brake pad material left. I've got plenty of rotor material left.
So in my best effort to start a religious war, what are people's opinions on the following:
1. If I have the rotors machined, should I replace the pads at the same time?
2. Should I have the rotors machined on the car (hub-mounted lathe), or can I save some money and bring them in to the shop?
