Thanks for all the good advice last time. Basically I'm shopping for a used fun car with some pratcicality (sp), focused on a 3series BMW but looking at other makes. My wife suggested I look into Audi's since there all over the place when I am. Today I drove a used A4 1.8T Quattro with in my price range, it was a little bit above the 99 9-3 I drove last week.
My Opinion - buy a SAAB.
The Audi seemed to have no personallity - it was simply a car. With the salesperson I even did his "test drive loop" twice and did get it up to redline. The turbo is very linear, no "rush", I would expect it wasn't working well if 1)It had more than the 40,000 miles 2)Was CPO 3)Was fairly brisk.
All in all it just wasn't a fun car to drive. Just a nice car.
Ray
P.S. - Looks like its still going to be a BMW for me, unless I stumble across a really great deal on a turbo 900.
