The upper shock mounts can be torn or worn out, but this should not happen with your low miles. Look under the large buffer washers under the top nut on the top side of the shock tower. You might need a flashlight to see under that washer. Look for tears or cracks in the rubber. With the tires on the ground, there is no load on that top nut as the vehicle weight is holding down the spring. You can safely remove the top nut and buffer washer for a better look.
Check or have checked that the suspention and subframe fasteners are tight.
If the large nut that retains the shock in the strut tube is not clamping down on the shock body enough, the shock can make a jarring noise that goes away as the shock warms up and expands. If the nut backs out further, then the noise will get worse and will not go away as the shock warms up.
Possibly the vehicle has been modified previous to your purchase. if the top shock shaft has a turnable tang sticking out of it at the top, then these are adjustable Koni shocks. If so, the Koni's come with a new strut tube shock retaining nut that is very difficult to get properly tightened. So if you have those shocks, then the problem could very well be that retaining nut. This would require that the struts be removed, springs removed and the nuts removed, degreased and tightened up with lots of loctite blue. The Koni's cost $570 before plus intall labor. So if you do find these, you can count yourself lucky.
If you purchased from a Saab dealer, let them go over it.
