Some folks find the torque steer a pain, some don't.
The torque steer is greatly a function of the tires.
During acceleration straight ahead, there will be no body roll as there are no lateral loads.
With increased boost pressure, WOT in a turn does require a firm grip sometimes.
Body roll can be reduced with stiffer springs, but a stiff rear sway bar is more effective and much cheaper and easy to install.
Some torque steer is caused by front-rear weight transfer which affects steering geometry which aggrevates torque steer. Some have reported that stiffer springs help in this regard. Is the the body roll that you were thinking of?
There are too many rubbery bits in the stock suspension that make things worse. If you upgrade the suspension you can get it to the point that you can control the steering under hard accelleration with a firm grip. But with the stock suspension holding the steering wheel tight has nothing to do with the wheels moving about. It is like fighting with a rubber snake. but again, these extremes don't show up with stock vehicles.... except for the Viggens!
