Quick fingers, sent first message without text. I just purchased a 2001 Viggen, 18,000 miles. The first few days I drove it, I was impressed with the performance, having never owned a turbo before, it seemed quite peppy compared to the old Holley 500 carb driven relics. Now that I'm comfortable driving the car, I've been testing it's limitations. To my disappointment, when nearing red line on the tach, she started to buck. I'm told this is normal and it's a restrictor of some sort that keeps me from blowing the engine, ok fine. Well, today, I had some open road and really wanted to open it up, I did and was really pissed when the turbo kicked out around 110 and wouldn't let me engage it again at all. It's as though a switch shut it off. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get it to go faster than 90 after that. Has anyone ever heard of this and what was the problem. The dealer is sick of my questions and telling me the waste gate may have stuck. This car is designed to do 149 or so, I expect it to do so. Any help would be appreciated.
