Need Viggen Owners To Take A Peek For Me...

I put the summer wheels on my 1999 Viggen today. I have done the winter/summer changeover myself several times, but this time I noticed something peculiar. The car was just washed yesterday, and the front wheel wells were fairly clean, showing me something I hadn't noticed before. In each front wheel well, there is one long weld seam that runs more or less vertically.
The presence of the weld isn't so much my concern, but it's the fact the welds in each well look completely different. One of them looks as if it was done at the factory, done in one style, while the other is a significantly darker color and in a slightly different style.
My first reaction is that in addition to the fargin' multitude of mechanical problems I've had with this car, it now appears that that this car was in some sort of serious front-end collision at some point. Does this jive with anyone's sense of good sense? When I took delivery, the nose of the car looked absolutely fine; Carfax was fine; all gaps were even, nothing looked askew.
Any advice is welcome; I'm hardly an auto body expert.
So anyway, can all you Viggen owners pop your heads down in those front wheel wells and let me know what you see? Thanks a bunch.
