Got out of my office this afternoon and noticed the real tire is flat .. wonderful, must have caught a nail. Took out the 12V air pump (this is a life safer !), pump it up to 35psi and drove to the nearest tire shop to get it fix. 15 minutes later, the manger came over, oh no .. must be @$~#&*% non-repairable. Nope, they could find any nail and the valve is OK, BUT the wheel is bent on the inside and they suspect it might be leaking from that. They shown me the bent and it is on the inside and about 2" long. They put some sealant around the area and told me if it leaks again, I will need to get the rim repaired someplace or get a new one :-((
Around NYC the road is petty bad and I have been mindful of the story I heard about soft OE rims. I have hit potholes but none I would consider really bad. I have driven on other 16" AF wheel but this is my first bent rim.
I was ready to order a set of 16x7.5 Ronal LV "Spider" for my set of summer ties but now I am having second thought about it. Does anyone have any experience concerning the durability of the "aftermarket" Ronal vs the one that are used on Saab ?
Thanks
