just traded my 1996 900s convertible on a 1999 viggen coupe which is a big change for the better. I was going to fit the VRK, but so far the torque steer doesn't bother me....anyway here is the question....

My 900s would turn its engine cooling fan on quite loudly just about every time I parked it and turned it off, it would run for a minute or two and then stop - i guess when the forward motion of the car stopped cooling the engine due to it being stopped, residual heat in the cooling system needed to be dealt with even though the car wasn't going anywhere.

The Viggen doesn't do this at all, even though the weather is quite warm and I've driven it a long way, when I park it it's silent, no roaring fan as you walk away - the engine temp is normal -but I would have thought there would be more residual heat in the cooling system and engine compartment generally.

Should the fan kick in when the engine is off? Do 9-3s do this or maybe it the 9-3s computer thinks it isn't necessary?

Thinking of fitting the saab Viggen sports exhaust for a more rumbly note, has anyone done this, is it a good sound and not too noisy for long trips?
