I mostly lurk. I think I've posted a couple of questions and a couple of responses since I bought my 93SE last year. Here are my thoughts.
The people who ask the questions and never reappear are the ones with no expertise with Saabs. They have a problem or question about their car, come here and post it, and get their response. They really should post a thank you after getting a helpful answer. Beyond that they don't stay to participate in the "community" because they're not "Saab Geeks," for wont of a better term.
I don't think that what they do is unfair. I assume (although I may be wrong) that these people have expertise in some other area and participate in some other "community." It all works out in the end because Dean, who gives excellent mechanical advice on Saabs, may have a question about Windows XP or Tivo or knitting, so he can go to some Windows XP or Tivo or knitting board, post his question and get the benefit of advice from a Windows XP or Tivo or knitting geek. He shouldn't feel any obligation to stay and participate in that community.
