the fuel pump in a 9-3 is mounted inside of a module. this module is allways kept full of fuel,no matter how low the tank is, by the fuel returning from the fuel injector rail. a pump cooled by the fuel will last much longer. read the fuel tank capacity spec in your owners manual. the next time the low fuel light comes on imeadiatly refuel and determine how much is left in the tank at this point. this way you can figure out how far you could drive on the reserve.
