... how much will it cost to ship to states? Couple grand??
How much import duty or other costs?? (I've got no idea, especially for military)
Any work to be done? Swapping headlights or fuel-filler neck? Several years ago when I considered Europe delivery all that stuff was included. They indicated that even though its a US car, they don't install the catalyst until it reaches USA. That's because at the time, unleaded was hard to find in Europe. Also they didn't have that stupid small gas filler neck. (Now you need a neck compatible with vapor recovery gas pumps!) Headlights & foglights were swapped because laws covering them were different for each country.
I'm generalizing here, and this is 20yr OLD information, but "US spec" cars were available in Europe at the time, but they just had the crash-protection stuff which wasn't required in Germany. Those "US spec" cars didn't have ALL of the equipment required for actual licensing in the US.
I'm not saying its like that any more, just be sure to ask a lot of questions so you don't get surprised when you try to obtain a title & license plates back home.
