1. I have found it is easiest to determine if the rotors need turning is by barely applying the brakes - in my opinion, the pulsating is more pronounced. Also, the pulsating pace should vary with speed if indeed the rotors need turning.
2. Mine is the same, I believe. As I recall, if the headlights are turned to the off position (or daytime running lights position to be more correct) when or after the car is turned off, and then the switch is turned to the parking lights position, I think only the parking lights come on. I am not sure about this, so I am sure someone will correct me if I am mistaken.
3. The instantaneous fuel economy could be as high as 35 mpg at 70 mph. I have averaged in the upper 20s on complete tanks where I have been mostly on highways with the ACC system on Econ.
4. I had the same problem with the gear shift position. I used a small screwdriver to pop out the indicator badge (much easier than removing or spinning the whole knob in my case), and replaced it in the correct position using high quality two-sided tape. Five minutes and works great.
