I did something similar, more than a couple of times. didn't get caught though ;=) i guess i was just lucky. but i didn't do it in the pleasure of a saab...
the first time i did it was when my altima (2001 SE) was a few months and a coupla 1000 miles old. i zoomed upto 115 mph on I-40, to feel how the car responds at that high speed. boy it was rock steady, although the road noise was almost unbearable. the second time was recently, when i got my car back from an accident :(wasn't my fault). wanted to c if there were any obvious structural damage not well taken care of in the repairs. since i knew how the car feels at hi speeds and had a reference to compare with post accident. (again on 40) i sped the car upto 120mph (maybe 118-119, the altima barely gets there) and the car was rock steady. even took the curves well (at that high speed even the barest curve feels high risk). that speed was for abt 5 minutes and my friend was witness, occupying the passenger seat! obviously he was thrilled and wanted more ;=)
