According to the Gospel by Click and Clack, the seats are one of the two most expensive items on a car, the other being the engine. (Prices for Saab turbos and trannies may warp their usual wisdom.) Since warranty time is dear, it may be prudent to push your claim now with Saab USA. Consider getting an outside appraisal of necessary fix to really repair the item from someone in the business of repairing upholstery - in writing, dated, on their letterhead. You may preserve your right to make the warranty claim past this summer by making your complaints in writing, dated, and keeping copies. Thus you can establish making the claim while seeking redress for a defect not repaired during the warranty period. Even a fix attempted but done improperly during the warranty period can be the basis for their later liability under the warranty theory since the contract is to make the repair in a workmanlike manner, not just reattaching clips which now have a demonstrated propensity to quickly fail.
