Alternator Hum Via CD changer + floor mats missing Posted by Ryan [Email] ![]() ![]() |
I just recently purchased a used 1999 9-3 SE with a CD Changer in the trunk. Unfortunately, I hear a rather apparent alternator whine when playing music in the changer. Suggestions? I bought from a Saab dealer. Do you think they will repair this problem? The solution is usually to put a toride choke on the positive and properly ground the negative to the chassy. I have a feeling that the CD Changer is wireless (e.g. broadcasts a microwave signal to the radio antennae above it.)
Also, I was rather disappointed that my purchased car yesterday did not have floor mats under the paper that they laid on the floor after detailing the vehicle. Did they forget to put the mats back in, or are they really that cheap to not include floor mats? A call to them tomorrow will hopefully reveal to me that they simply forgot to put them back in! Rrrgh!
