Dealer says head gasket leak normal, no need to fix?

I'm a bit confused here and really hope some people can provide me with some useful information. I drove 2 hours out of town to get my car serviced by a "good" service center in northern VA. They may very well be, but here's the situation I'm confronted with.
One major reason I took my car in for service was an obvious oil leak around the front, driver's side of the head gasket. It's not a huge leak, but is a leak just the same. The advice I've received on this board unanimously suggested I get it fixed under warranty and that there's a Saab service bulletin about this.
The service rep. told me today that it's not leaking, but instead "seeping" which is normal. As a result, they can't authorize a head gasket replacement under warranty. Along the same lines, I was told that it's a bit risky to go and change all that stuff around since it might disturb other things and cause other problems later. Retorquing the head at this mileage (41k) would also be dangerous as I could make things leak.
This sounds really fishy to me. But I could be wrong. So I'm hoping people can offer me some input / advice.
Does this sound reasonable? If not, what should I do? The dealer in question has been hailed by some on this board as one of the best repair shops in the Northeastern US. To their credit, they are doing some major work on the tranny which I thought was a minor issue (occasional rough shifting into reverse).
But I thought the head gasket thing was a no brainer.
Thanks in advance,
Newdude
