Thanks to all for the comments. To set it straight, here's the deal. The car is new (never registered) sitting at the SAAB dealer(certified). It's not "salvaged" or "chopped". I'm fortunate that I can take advantage of military/diplomat pricing in Germany. I purchased an '01 9-3 base fully loaded for 23K 4 months ago. The dealer now has 3 cars left over and is trying to move them, so I thought 19.9K was a decent price since I need a second car now. As far as only asking 1k below advertised, everyone knows retail is based on demand. Just because a SAAB losses about 1/3 of it's value almost as soon as it leaves the lot (based on blue book) doesn't mean your going to get the dealer to sell it for it's actual value. If we could all pay what the car is worth and not market-driven retail, the dealers would be out of business. Anyway, I'm still considering. Thanks.
