OK: I've written a couple times about my water misadventure, so I thought I'd drop an update in case anyone else has either a) had a similar experience recently and would like some guidance or b) knows what's causing the remaining problems on my 99 9-3S

After stalling out in deep water:

1) mechanic pulled massive quantities of water from exhaust, engine, intercooler, and did a comprehensive fluid flush'

Result: engine ran, but idled rough

2) Mechanic replaced plugs, replaced idle sensor assembly

Result: engine idled normally, and ran fine for a few days; now hesitation on medium to heavy load; ; the car fairly 'bucks' upon steady acceleration in 2d, 3d ,4th gear. Also, engine fan comes on far more often than usual and engine 'feels' hot under the hood even though needle says normal.

Note: fuel consumpltion is approx. normal (I've been driving odd patterns on my most recent tank to get a feel for the problem; hard to compare, but over the course of the tank, maybe down 10%; about what I'd expect with the weird driving pattern)

3) Mechanic verified that BPC valve (there goes my guess) is in ok shape. Now looking to replace fuel filter. I'm picking her up tomorrow so I'll know if this did the trick.

I know some have had the di unit replaced and that this has addressed the hesitation problem, but my mechanic has convinced me that mine is in working order, and that the problem is probably elsewhere. If its plug/di related, would the problem manifest right away, or is it possible that the problem would present only after a few days of heavy driving? Any ideas?
