The 9-3 alarm operates quite different to many other car alarms. I had to borrow the electronic wiring diagram form my SAAB garage in order to see how different..
The most important difference is in the location of the alarm pulse. The OPEN command is on a different pin from the CLOSE command. The pulse length is also very small. Just 0.8 seconds. The normal aftermarket boxes rely on a far longer pulse, that also has to be of a particular direction (.e. a positive going pulse).
This pulse direction is of no use in a 9-3 (and possibly all SAAB alarms).
It took a bit of work with a digital storage scope to capture the waveform and build a discriminator circuit that would only let that pulse trigger the auto power window. You wouldn't want the window to start closing on you for no apparent reason...
