AND HERE IS THE ARTICLE FROM CR!!!!:
Audi's midlevel model rides smoothly and quietly. Handling is responsive and secure, though less engaging than that of the BMW 5-Series. The Quattro all-wheel-drive system provides great snow traction. Performance is good with the standard 3.0-liter V6, but the 2.7-liter turbo V6 and 4.2-liter V8 are stronger. The 2.7T hesitates off the line, however, and has an appetite for premium fuel. The A6's front seats are large and very supportive. The interior is nicely finished and features many thoughtful details. The Allroad wagon is an SUV-like permutation of the A6, with more ground clearance, an adjustable-height suspension, and more-rugged styling. Both the A6 and Allroad scored very well in our tests, but a below-average reliability record keeps us from recommending them. A high-performance S6 Avant (wagon), with a 340-hp V8 and a sport-tuned suspension system, augments the lineup for 2002.
BELOW AVERAGE RELIABILITY KEEPS US FROM RECOMMENDING THEM.... So much for the A6....
And since we are on the subject of Audi, take a look at the new A4....
Here is a part of the test-drive results from CR as well:
Reliability. The 2002 A4 is too new to predict reliability. Our car had sporadic electrical problems that left us stranded and led to numerous trips for service.
