Bought out my lease through Chase (Long)

After a few months of negotiating, I finally bought out my 1999 9-3 from Chase. Waiting the extra months saved me a little $$$. My final number was $13,074.50.
A couple things I learned:
1) Do not tell them the miles on your car. Give a rough estimate but make sure it is high but not over your alotted miles. I am allowed 39K miles only have 31K.
2) Do you research before accepting an offer from the bank. Check Edmunds.com for "True Value" costs. Chase would not match the price but it shows you are doing your homework...or at least that is the impression I got.
3) If the bank "insured" your lease, don't believe the first number they tell you as the insured value. Originally, they told me it was insured for $14K and they could not go any lower....well, they did and I got it for $13K and change..
As a reference to all of you considering buying out your car, here are the specifics of mine..1999 9-3, coupe, 5-speed, leather, sunroof, heated seats and 31K miles.
Good luck to others trying to buy their cars.
This board is great. I would have bought the car for $14K if it weren't for other posters.
