My license plate is attached with a black plastic mounting frame that attaches to the euro plate "track" that is in the bumper. I'm told that each car that is shipped to the US comes with one of these... which seems to make sense since when my special order arrived, it was packaged up in the trunk for when the car is prepped.

I would have serious issues with someone drilling right through the bumper on my brand new car if it were me. Sounds like someone either lost your mounting bracket or got lazy.

I would make them mount it properly and then have the holes filled and painted at a reputable body shop. You probably would not even be able to tell that they're there if they do a good job... and you get to keep your original bumper with the factory finish.

Just my $.02
