Rough Idle on '99 9-3

My 9-3 just turned 60K. For some time now it has had a peculiar problem. When driving stop-and-go in warm to hot weather, every few stop lights the car will "hiccup" and almost die. RPMs drop to around 500, just for a second, and then it comes back up. I thought for awhile it might be the cooling fan kicking in...but it seems more like an injection/ignition problem, and the cooling fan should not cause the car to die like that.
I have changed the fuel filter and both oxygen sensors, and it still does the same thing. As a side note...the car didn't seem to run much smoother after I changed either the fuel filter or the oxygen sensors...I'm going to see if my mileage improves, but I feel like I wasted over 200 dollars on the oxygen sensors...plus they were a pain to change (did it myself). Any thoughts??
