There are several types of CD-RW's.... the difference is that some CD-R are more reflective than others.
You will notice that some CD-R's are blue, gold, silver. The reflective qualities of these CD's will vary a great deal. The Silver CD-R are more reflective than other CD-R's and all CD-R's are MUCH more reflective than CD-RW's.
If the surface of a CD-R was completly reflective, the laser would not be able to burn the surface of the disk, therfore not record the information. The CD-RW's have to be less reflective because they need to be reburned.
Anyway... I will not go into a long description, but purchase the CD-R's that are silver on the burning side and you should have no trouble reading them on your CD player in your car. I have been using burned CD's since I purchased my car(1999 9-3SE) 18 months ago and have had no trouble with the CD's.
Good luck!
Russ
