Robin,
I chose the Alpine RF modulator version with the XM receiver. Also I did the Terk roof mount low profile antenna. Below is the equipment list:
T020XM - Radio Tuner
1667RF - FM Modulator and remote display plus IR contoller
TRK-SR2 - Roof mount antenna
I had it installed at:
Autosonics
1671 OLD SKOKIE ROAD
HIGHLAND PARK, IL 60035
(847) 831-4400
Took only 1 hour and they did a great job. (Except they didn't know that the SAAB doesn't have an accessory position on the ignition.
The LCD remote was mounted in the center console under the brake lever. I chose this model because of the small turn knob that allows fast tuning of stations verses push buttons and had a IR remote control so the wife or kids in the back can change stations.
I'll take some pictures of the install and post them on my web site later this week.
I am still looking for information about the wire harness that would normally go to the cd changer near the antenna. Does this harness carry the radio accessory power so I can turn off the ignition and still listen to the radio until the key is removed.
Thanks
RonV
