I had that right when I bought my car. The alarm module had to be replaced. The siren part actually, ya know that part that actually makes the noise? The dealer explained it like this: there's a litium battery in the siren and then that voltage gets low, below a certain level, the SID displays that warning. The alarm will still work until the litium battery dies totally, and who knows how long it will sustain a low voltage. I asked the dealer for the part they replaced ($320 f-ing dollars) it's a small part, maybe a little bigger that your hand. I decided to take it apart to see what was inside. There were two speakers, a cicuit board w/ some stuff on it, along with a lithium battery that has been soldered to two terminals. Beleive you, me, when it happens again, you know I'll be soldering a new lithium battery into the old one to save my ass 300 bucks! Needles to say that pissed me off.....
Good luck
