Steven, You need to remove the whole piece. Saab amazingly has made changes liket his quite easy. Just locate all the needed Mounts and disconnect them. I am not calling these screws because they tend to be a cross between a screw and a rivit. Regardless, Your local public library will have a complete book and Saab repair and I just photocopy what I need. The real issue then becomes the $500 price tag from the dealership to get the replacement. You can order it firectly from http://www.saabcatalog.com for $465, but I would check Ebay or some discount saab dealers. Also, many car brokers have deals where they can get 20% off any part, so there is another option. Also, you can call people selling parts from trashed Saabs. I replaced my whole stereo system and upgraded my 9-3 S to the SE (which involves CD installation, amp, and door mounted subwoofer for less than $150. So, there are deals out there, you just have to look for them.

The 3M dash treatment is another option, but they can be really tricky. Once this stuff sticks, it is on for good too. You basically have to scrap it off if it sticks somewhere it shouldn't. Good luck! Paul
