Another vote for the SAS sway bar (+ leaking shock?) Posted by Robin [Email] ![]() ![]() |
based on all the positive reviews here, i had an SAS (anti)sway bar installed last friday on my 2001 9-3SE Convertible. the install was done by Swedish Auto Factory in Santa Clara, CA... they hadn't installed an SAS bar before, but had experience with the Abbott... i gave them the SAS instructions and some of the posts from Saabnet on orientation, etc.
they charged me for an hour tech time, but in truth the bar went up in about 35 minutes using a lift (they let me watch the whole process).
bottom line is the car feels GREAT!!! if the ride is harsher, it's not obvious, but cornering and control (especially on sharp turns and off-ramps) is terrific! highly recommended at $125US.
btw, the tech showed me that the rear shocks were both 'wet' and said there seemed to be early signs of 'cupping' on the rear tires... the car has 15,000miles... is this normal/reasonable? or something i should speak (fight) with the dealer about?
