I have a 99 9-3 5-speed convertible. I noticed when putting the car in reverse, if I let up a little too fast on the clutch I get a clacking noise. It sounds like if you stuck a ruler in a box fan! Now I understand that it is important to shift gears properly so as to not lug the engine but I heard this when the carwash attendant was driving my car. Also, this is not the sound you get if you let the clutch out too fast when starting in 1st gear. Is this normal?
